I wonder how long a wealthier, healthier life will last without a few
engineers. What happens when water stops coming out of the taps and there's
no power to run the computers if there's no-one around who knows how to
upgrade all this infrastructure? It cannot be kept going by training a few
technicians to use service manuals. Without people who understand how it
all works it will collapse. It may just be that future students are igno
ring this at their peril.
