Dear Marshall,
I loved your spontaneity!
I was also wondering where they all get time to join the discussions.
I also feel that sometimes we are self-indulgent in our musings and deal too little with the important issues, like evaluation of
results or still better, getting questions about Technological Education and everybody helping to solve them, which would be a real
Forum and Methodology Workshop at the same time, and much more economical and effective.
However I think that these discussions, illuminate, enhance and refresh our teaching but then again, if we could go beyond them it
would help become more precise, effective and economical.
Getting down to brass tacks, I have been offering a course like the one you mention which I call "combinado" and implies one F2F
lesson a month and several but at least 4 online meetings, one per week. The meetings in my country would be through email because
we are not as fully equipped as you are in the first world but we think they are just as good. The thing is, we have not been able
to get any students so far! Apparently, what students won't learn one way, they won't learn the other way either! Anyway, we keep
trying. So I would love to hear about your experience with your "combinado", if I may call it so.
Also, let me know if you would like to find out about our Socratic Norm method, teaching-learning through errors and dialogue.
I'll be happy to answer any questions about our life, training, work or country.
