International Forum of Educational Technology & Society

Your further involvement

Besides taking active part in the discussions, there are many other activities which require your voluntary support:

1. Moderation of discussions
2. Providing research links for forum website
3. Summarizing forum discussions
4. Providing support towards forum's peer-reviewed journal
5. Supporting regional and/or language specific activities

1. Moderation of discussions
The forum organizes frequent discussions on various topics related to educators and developers of educational systems. Please see the schedule of discussions for past and forthcoming discussions. Some topics which have been suggested by our members for future discussions are available on "Suggested future discussions topics" page. If you would like to moderate any of already suggested topics, please express your intention at kinshuk@massey.ac.nz. Alternatively, if you would like to suggest a topic for formal discussion, or would like to moderate it yourself, please fill the formal discussion themes suggestion form.

2. Providing research links for forum website
One of the major strength of the forum comes through its rich-in-useful-information website. In particular, we aim to have the interesting links section as strong as possible from a researcher and practitioner's point of view. Please see the interesting links page for existing links within various categories. Please use the "Add a site" form, available there, to suggest new links which are of interest to educators and/or educational system developers.

3. Summarizing forum discussions
The forum not only organizes formal time-bound discussions, but also encourages informal discussions which can take place any time and any forum member can initiate them by sending mail to discussion list. Both formal and informal discussions are summarized and the summaries are published in the forum's journal Educational technology & society (ISSN 1436-4522), available freely at forum's website.

If you are interested in summarizing formal and/or informal discussions, please express your intentions by sending email to kinshuk@massey.ac.nz with "intention to summarize discussions" in the subject. Please include your name and email address in the body of the message along with the type of discussions you would like to summarize.

4. Providing support towards forum's peer-reviewed journal
There are a number of tasks which require your support in successful publication and maintaining high quality standard of the forum's online peer-reviewed journal Educational technology & society (ISSN 1436-4522).

If you are interested in providing support in these tasks, please fill out the "Call for Reviewers" form to indicate your interests.

5. Supporting regional and/or language specific activities
If you would like to provide support in extending forum's activities for region specific issues, or languages other than English, please send an email to kinshuk@massey.ac.nz with "support for regional/language specific activities" in the subject. Please include your name and email address in the body of the message and indicate for which language you can provide support.

Such activities may include, but not limited to, maintaining language specific version of forum website, organizing discussions related to certain regions or in different languages, and so on. New ideas are most welcome.

Thank you very much for your help in enhancing the usefulness of the forum!
